It all started when a severe brain fog left me unable to do much more than sleep for a week straight. Eventually that went away, but then the right half of my body went completely numb. After several days in the hospital and countless tests run, they still didn't know what was wrong with me, so they let me leave when my symptoms stopped

A few weeks later I developed an even worse symptom: My leg stopped cooperating with me and I kept falling down and hurting myself. Another trip to the hospital and the MRI revealed a bunch of new brain lesions. The still didn't know what exactly was wrong with me, but they were able to narrow down the options and provide treatment for it

After my symptoms returned at the end of 2021, they diagnosed me with multiple sclerosis, a debilitating lifelong autoimmune condition with no cure, and started me on immunosuppressant drugs to keep it in check

I haven't had any flare-ups since then, but that could change any day if I'm unlucky

When I'm not playing games, I try to spend time hanging with my friends. One of my primary motivations for moving to the Bay Area is also one of the things I love most about it: There are so many trans people here! Growing up trans in Indiana was a very lonely experience, and I had to navigate all the aspects of transition without anybody to guide me. Now I have more trans friends than I ever thought possible, and I love how many raves and parties and other community events there are in SF and Oakland 💜
